Leah Block LMHC

I’m proud of you for taking this first step and having the courage to reach out on your life’s journey. You deserve to prioritize yourself, and to get the help you need. How can I help? What does progress look like for you? What has gotten in the way of you reaching your most precious life goals? What is stopping you from growing, healing, and becoming your most fulfilled self?

Here at Life Story Counseling & Consulting, I can provide you with an unbiased, empathic, safe place where we can explore what’s stopping you from becoming who you want to be. I’ll give you support, guidance, and a place to explore the hurdles that are in your way of healing and growth.

It’s so easy for people to get caught up in the whirlwind of their crazy, busy lives and neglect their own basic mental health needs. It’s exciting for me to be with them on their journey and help them chart the steps and strategies needed to achieve their dreams and goals.

Mr. Rogers once said, “For all the mean and horrible things that happen in this world, we need to remember to ask, ‘Where are the helpers?’” Counseling is where I’ve decided I can make the biggest difference and where my heart is. The first place to start to solve the world’s problems is with ourselves. My treatment philosophy is guided by that. I am doing what I do as a therapist to help people live happier, more effective lives, and to move past the blocks that get in the way.

I believe that people are naturally self-healing.

What is truly amazing to me is how resilient humans are. That no matter what happens, they are driven to overcome any challenge and to heal from any wound, no matter how deep. The human spirit keeps us moving towards healing.

In my practice, I strive to honor diversity, and to whenever possible encourage, support, and stand up for those who face barriers and encourage a resistance mentality to any and all oppression and the myriad ways that create inequality between people.

You can’t go back and change the beginning,

but you can start where you are and change the ending.
